NASA/Goddard Earth Observing System Data Assimilation System

Source: NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center
Sensor: Global data assimilation system which utilizes ship and buoy sea level pressure and surface wind estimates to produce a surface wind analysis over water. Only sea level pressure observations are used over land. An upper air height and wind analysis is performed using height and wind information from rawinsonde ascents, cloud track winds, and satellite height data.
