Oil Exploration Updates: A consortium of three oil
companies are engaged in oil exploration activities in Eritrea waters in
the Red Sea near the central Eritrean coastline south of Massawa.
The three companies own two concessions, one is called the Zula block,
while the other is named the Edd block. The concessions are owned
50% by Anadarko, 30% by Agip Eritrea B.V., and 20% by Burlington Resources.
Because Anadarko is a publicly traded company, it reports approximately
every quarter on the progress of its activities. Here we provide
exerpts of those reports that are relevant to Eritrea.
